My Choice

At first, I wanted to major in the medical field.  I love to help people and since nurses and doctors help people, I thought that it would be a good career to pursue.  When I actually thought about the job and what the nurses had to do, I started to doubt that career.  I do not like a lot of blood.  Before you become a nurse or doctor, in school you have to disect a catavar.  (If you do not know what that is, it is a dead human body.)

It was senior year and I still did not know what career to pursue.  I knew I wanted to help people but I just didn't know what.  In one of my classes in high school, we did a personality test.  That test showed us the different careers that will fit our personality, the stuff we like to do, and so on.  The jobs that fit my personality was bookkeeping, accounting, dental assistant, geologist, and much more.  My dad told me about accounting so I decided to do my project on accounting.

I researched the career and found out that they work with computers (which I am good with), numbers (I like to do math), and they help people.  I chose to apply to colleges that had my major (business-accounting) and that was known for graduating with a degree in business.  I was accepted into into three different colleges, Cal State LA (CSULA), Cal State East Bay (CSUEB), and Sonoma State University (SSU).

Honestly, having to chose was difficult.  I live in the central coast, about three hours north of Los Angeles, and four hours south of Oakland.  All three schools are great in business.  I didn't choose CSULA because my friends are going there, I chose it because the school is close to home and it is also a great school for busniess acounting.
